This week, I finished reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. In my reading this week, I learned another thing that isnt shown in the movie. There is another quiddich match, and everyone is telling Harry to fake being hurt, because they are all so scared that Snape is going to try and hurt him again this game. Harry says no, that he wont give up on his team. When they get to the game, they find out that Snape is the referee. So now they all are really trying to get Harry to back down. But then Dumbledore shows up, and they all know Snape wont try anything while he is around. Harry ends up catching the snitch, and winning the game. Little did Harry know that during the game, Ron and Nevel beat up Malfoy. Who knows how that one happened. Later on, they are sitting in their cooridors, and talking about the game. Harry then remembers where he heard the name Nicolas Flamel. He saw it on the chocolate frog card that he got, and figured out that Dumbledore worked with him. Then Hermoine comes up with a book, and they learn all about him at the sorcerers stone. They talk to Hagrid about that they know about the sorcerers stone. And thats when they figure out that Fluffy, the three headed dog, is gaurding the stone. That is why it was the forbidden part of the castle. Being the explorers they are, they decide to go find the stone. So they go and get the dog to go to sleep. Then they go threw the trap door, and land in a pile of roots. Hermoine explains how they work. And Harry and Hermoine relax. But ron is freaking out. So he is just getting more tangled. And he is stuck. They all get through. Then they enter this room full of flying keys. They have to find the certain one that will open the door and let them through to the next part. So Harry hops on a broom, and flys all the way to the top, chasing the right key, and getting attacked by the other ones in the meantime. Harry finally gets the key, and opens the door. Which leads them to a giant chess board. and the only way to get past is to win the game. But the wizards chess isnt like ordinary chess. They have to be the little players. And they truely have to battle it out. Ron almost gets killed. But they end up getting through to the next part. That is where Harry runs in to proffesor quirrel. who is a weird little guy. And he has the stone. as far as harry can see. Then he takes off his turban, and Harry sees that voldemort is on the other half of Quirrel's head. So they end up battling for the stone. It is a close call, with Harry knowing the little he knows about magic, but Harry ends up winning. And he gets praised for what he has done in the end. It was a very good book. I cant wait to read the others. If you like adventure books, Harry Potter is a great book to read!
